Our Honoree

Dr. Lucy Waletzky, a former National Audubon Board member, initiated our Audubon At Home program at the national level 10 years ago. Dr. Waletzky’s accomplishments go far beyond Audubon though, and she is truly an icon in the world of conservation.

The daughter of Laurance Rockefeller, who led a storied conservation career, Lucy has not only followed in her father’s footsteps, she has found new and innovative approaches to engage everyone in conservation. As the Chair of the New York State Council of Parks, she is a leading force in providing the public with incredible opportunities to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Additionally, as a Board member and activist with multiple organizations, she delves deeper into the issues of health and the environment. This is exemplified by her support of the Audubon At Home program that not only guides people to healthier and more environmentally friendly decisions, it makes them personal advocates of these decisions.
